Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has instructed sports authorities to ensure timely and well-coordinated preparation for the 10th National Sports Tournament, highlighting its importance ahead of the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the leadership of the National Sports Council to make strong and effective preparations for the 10th National Games. He said the event should be completed within the Nepali month of Mangsir (November–December).
During a meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, PM Oli said that the National Games are a matter of national pride, especially ahead of the Asian Games in Japan in 2026. He asked officials to carefully study and decide the date and location of the games, and once finalized, not to make any changes.
As the patron of the National Sports Council, PM Oli also stressed the importance of proper coordination between the ministry and the council.
The meeting was attended by Youth and Sports Minister Tej Lal Chaudhary, Ministry Secretary Dr. Hari Prasad Lamsal, Council Vice President Dhruva Acharya, Member Secretary Tanklal Ghising, and others.
