Prime Minister Sushila Karki has called on all political parties and citizens to work together to ensure peaceful and fair elections scheduled for March 5, 2026 (Falgun 21, 2082 BS).

Speaking at a program in Mangalbazar, Lalitpur, marking Nepal Sambat 1146, the Prime Minister said the government is fully committed to creating an environment where every Nepali can exercise their voting rights without fear.

“Under the Constitution, it is the government’s responsibility to address the voices raised during the Gen-Z movement for good governance,” she said, emphasizing the need for collective effort from all sectors of society.

She expressed confidence that all political parties, communities, and social groups would support the government’s efforts toward democratic strengthening, economic prosperity, and protection of citizens’ rights.

Extending greetings on Nepal Sambat, PM Karki paid tribute to national figure Shankhadhar Sakhwa, who freed citizens from debt during the reign of King Raghavdev. She highlighted his values of unity, sacrifice, and humanity, urging everyone to prioritize national interest over personal or party interests for the country’s progress.
