As heavy monsoon rains continue to batter several parts of the country, Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extensive damage caused by floods and landslides, particularly in Ilam district.
Sharing her message through social media on Saturday evening, Prime Minister Karki extended heartfelt condolences to families who lost their loved ones and sympathies to all affected by the disaster.
She lauded the relentless efforts of security personnel, local authorities, and volunteers engaged in rescue and relief operations, calling their dedication “an example of true service in times of crisis.”
“The resilience and unity shown by the Nepali people amid these challenges are deeply inspiring,” the Prime Minister said, thanking citizens nationwide for their cooperation and solidarity.
According to her, relief and rescue operations are ongoing, with the government coordinating closely with local administrations to ensure immediate assistance for victims. Continuous rainfall since Friday has triggered floods and landslides, leaving multiple casualties and severe damage to homes and infrastructure.
