The newly-elected members of the executive committee of the Private and Residential Schools Association of Nepal (PABSON) took their oath at the 16th National Convention in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Krishna Adhikari, the new president, promised to improve the quality of education in PABSON-affiliated schools during his term. He highlighted that private schools in Nepal are gaining international recognition for their quality and pledged to continue improving and globalizing the education system.
Adhikari listed his top priorities, with the recently-introduced education bill on top, emphasizing the importance of keeping private schools under the company system, so they can be passed down through generations.
“Our top priority is the education bill. It is important that our schools stay under the company system. We joined this system 23 years ago, and we want to keep it,” he said.
“Secondly, we want to keep improving the quality of education and the curriculum. Private schools in Nepal are known worldwide for their high standards, and we plan to continue making Nepal’s education system global,” he added.
Adhikari also mentioned their goal is to make the 5,000 private schools under PABSON excellent institutions that provide quality education and offer better opportunities for students, teachers and parents.
