District Administrations Call for Peaceful and Respectful Holi Celebrations

The district administration offices of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have urged the public to celebrate the Holi festival in a respectful and responsible manner.

Anil Poudel, Assistant Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, requested everyone to celebrate the festival peacefully and with respect towards each other.

In a notice, he reminded people that the Social Behaviour (Reform) Act and Regulations, 2033 BS, set rules for celebrating religious, social and cultural festivals. He urged everyone to avoid disturbing the peace, getting into fights, drinking alcohol or interfering with family and social life during the festival.

He also asked people to avoid risky behaviors like throwing colors or water balloons, spraying water from pipes, smearing color on others without their permission or running around carelessly.
