After seven days of continuous decline, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index finally showed signs of recovery today.
On Wednesday, the market dropped by 17.28 points, settling at 2,736.48 points.
Today, the total trading volume was NPR 8.23 billion, slightly down from NPR 8.39 billion yesterday.
Out of the 244 listed companies, 146 saw an increase in their share prices, while 88 experienced a decrease while 10 companies' share prices remained unchanged.
People's Power Company, Prabhu Insurance and Divyashwari Hydropower saw the biggest rise in share values. However, Wean Nepal Microfinance's share price dropped by 10%, triggering a negative circuit breaker.
Apart from microfinance and development banks, all other sectors saw gains, with the "others" and investment sectors increasing by over 1%.
In terms of trading volume, Machhapuchhre Bank's promoter shares had the largest transaction, worth NPR 81 crore, followed by Himalayan Reinsurance at NPR 56 crore.
Guardian Life Insurance led in the number of transactions, while Machhapuchhre Bank's promoter shares had the highest number of shares traded.
