In the final Group ‘A’ match of the Asia Cup T20, Oman put up a spirited fight but lost to India by 21 runs. Chasing a target of 189, Oman managed 167 for 4 in 20 overs, with Amir Kaleem scoring 64 and Hammad Mirza adding 53 runs.
Earlier, India posted 188 for 8 after opting to bat first, led by Sanju Samson’s 56. With this win, India topped Group ‘A’ unbeaten and advanced to the Super Four alongside Pakistan.
From Group ‘B’, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have secured their places. The Super Four stage begins today with Sri Lanka facing Bangladesh, while the much-anticipated India–Pakistan clash is set for tomorrow.
