CPN-UML Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged voters not to waste their votes on candidates without credibility or a proven track record. Speaking at a programme in Jhapa, Oli said banks do not print currency without collateral, and similarly, voters should not support leaders without guarantee.
He recalled that voting for unfamiliar candidates in 2007 set development back and questioned what Rastriya Swatantra Party leader Balen Shah has done for Jhapa, claiming he himself built roads and bridges in Mahottari. Oli also said local candidates should be prioritised over “tourist candidates.”
Stating that UML’s struggle is not for power alone, Oli said the party is working to protect the country, maintain peace and order, ensure development, and strengthen democracy. He urged people to stay away from misinformation spread through social media.
