The Nepal Rastra Bank has directed banks to operate limited banking services even during the public holidays for the election. The central bank issued the instruction to ensure certain banking transactions remain open.
The government has declared a three-day public holiday in view of the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21.
The Nepal Rastra Bank has arranged for agency banks handling government transactions, as well as banks and financial institutions managing election campaign accounts of political parties and candidates, to provide essential financial services including deposits and payments.
The Election Commission stated that necessary arrangements have been made to keep relevant bank branches operating as required to facilitate the smooth conduct of the House of Representatives election.
