Nine Nepali citizens were killed in a gas cylinder explosion in Himachal Pradesh, India. Family members have confirmed the deaths. All the victims belonged to two families from Siddha Kumakha Rural Municipality–2 in Salyan district.
The explosion happened around 2 a.m. on Tuesday while the families were sleeping in their rented room. A gas cylinder kept inside the room is believed to have exploded, causing a fire that also damaged nearby houses. All nine people died on the spot.
According to ward member Laxmi BK, the deceased are Dhan Bahadur BK (33), his wife Kabita BK (32), their daughters Radha BK (16) and Renuka BK (10), and their 22-month-old son Rajan BK.
