Gold and silver prices in Nepal have reached new record highs, following the rise in international markets.
The Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Associations says gold is now priced at Rs 276,500 per tola on Tuesday, up Rs 1,800 from Monday’s Rs 274,700 per tola.
Silver has also gone up, rising Rs 145 to Rs 5,340 per tola, compared to Rs 5,195 on Monday.
Traders say the increase in Nepal’s market is due to record-breaking prices of gold and silver in the global market.
