Nepali Congress Sets Late-Night Voting for New Leadership

The Nepali Congress has unveiled the election schedule to choose its new leadership under the ongoing Special General Convention at Bhrikutimandap.

According to the Election Committee formed by the convention, voting for the party’s central leadership will take place tonight from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am. The committee, headed by senior advocate Sitaram KC, issued the timetable through an official notice on Tuesday.

As per the schedule, the provisional voter list will be published at 12:30 pm, followed by a one-hour window for claims, objections and verification. The final voter list will be released at 2:00 pm. Nomination of candidates will be registered between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm, with the list of nominees to be made public at 4:30 pm.

Claims and objections on nominations will be accepted until 5:00 pm and reviewed by 5:30 pm. Candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, after which the final list of candidates will be published at 8:45 pm, paving the way for late-night voting.
