The NEPSE index fell by a slight 0.04 points to close at 2,662.09 on Wednesday, ending its three-day losing streak with minimal change. While the benchmark remained nearly stable, total turnover rose to Rs 8.69 billion, with hydropower stocks leading both gains and transaction value.

The NEPSE index, which had been declining continuously for the past three trading days, fell only marginally on Wednesday.
On the day, the NEPSE index slipped by 0.04 points to close at 2,662.09. The Sensitive Index, however, rose by 0.81 points. Similarly, the Float Index increased by 0.07 points and the Sensitive Float Index climbed by 0.18 points.
Although the benchmark index remained almost stable, transaction volume saw a slight rise. While shares worth Rs 8.61 billion were traded on Tuesday, Wednesday recorded transactions worth Rs 8.69 billion. A total of 22.28 million shares of 329 companies were traded in 82,450 transactions.
Ridi Power Company posted the highest gain of the day, with its share price surging by 9.67 percent. Singati Hydro Energy rose by more than 8.5 percent, while Ankhu Khola Hydropower gained over 7 percent. On the losing side, Sumar Mai Hydropower declined the most, falling by 6.39 percent.
In terms of transaction value, Ridi Hydropower topped the chart with shares worth Rs 654.7 million traded. Ankhu Khola Hydropower recorded transactions exceeding Rs 620 million, while Singati Hydro Energy saw turnover of more than Rs 585 million.
Among the 13 sub-indices, five posted gains while eight declined. Banking, Development Bank, Hydropower, Investment, and Non-life Insurance sectors saw slight increases, whereas the remaining sectors experienced marginal losses.
