The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 18.37 points on Tuesday and closed at 2,619.99 points. During the trading session, share prices of 187 companies went up, while 61 companies saw a fall in their prices and 11 companies remained unchanged.
Total trading activity was slightly lower than the previous day. Shares worth Rs 3.29 billion were traded on Tuesday, compared to Rs 3.44 billion on Monday.
All sector indices ended higher except for the trading sector, which declined slightly by 0.01 percent. The banking sector rose by 0.35 percent, while development banks recorded a strong gain of 1.56 percent. The finance sector increased by 0.41 percent, and hotels and tourism rose by 1.49 percent. Hydropower shares went up by 0.77 percent, investment companies gained 0.68 percent, and life insurance increased by 0.69 percent.
Manufacturing and processing shares rose by 0.46 percent, microfinance increased by 0.86 percent, and non-life insurance climbed by 0.89 percent. The ‘others’ group also performed well, rising by 1.15 percent. Overall, the market showed a positive trend, with most sectors closing higher.
