On Tuesday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed lower, continuing the declining trend from the first trading day of the week.
The NEPSE index fell by 10.25 points to close at 2,662.14. Similarly, the Sensitive Index dropped by 1.26 points, the Float Index by 0.82 points, and the Sensitive Float Index by 0.56 points.
Trading volume also decreased along with the index. On this day, 2,171,500 shares of 324 companies were traded 89,836 times, amounting to a total turnover of NPR 861.64 million, down from NPR 1,077 million on the previous day.
Among the stocks, Kalinchok Darshan Limited saw the highest increase of 6.36%, followed by Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company with a rise of over 5%, and RBB Focus 40 Mutual Fund units up by about 4%. In contrast, Corporate Development Bank’s share price dropped the most at 5.24%.
Based on turnover, Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company led the trading with shares worth NPR 452.8 million. Similarly, Aankhu Khola Hydropower Company traded shares worth over NPR 405 million, and Ridi Power Company’s turnover exceeded NPR 385 million.
Out of 13 sub-indices, 2 showed gains while 11 sub-indices fell. Mutual Fund and Trade sub-indices recorded slight gains, whereas the Development Bank sub-index saw the largest drop of 1.15% on the day.
