On Monday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped to 2,704 points, down by 10.14 points compared to the previous day.

This decline was also reflected in both trading volume and market value.

The day saw the total turnover fall to Rs 5.40 billion, down from Rs 6.83 billion the day before.

While 85 companies saw their stock prices go up, 145 companies’ prices dropped, and 13 companies' stock prices stayed the same.

The trade sector experienced the biggest drop, falling by 3.38%, as the value of larger companies decreased significantly.

The banking sector saw a small decrease of 0.21%, while development banks dropped more, by 0.92%. Other sectors like hydropower, life insurance, microfinance, non-life insurance and the "others" category also faced losses, with decreases ranging from 0.01% to 0.56%.

At the same time, some sectors did well. The manufacturing and processing sector rose by 0.44%, followed by a 0.18% increase in both the investment and hotel and tourism sectors. The finance sector also saw a small rise of 0.12%.
