The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell on Thursday, marking a decline of 11.10 points, closing at 2,654 points.
With the index, trading volume too decreased in comparison to Wednesday, indicating a slowdown in market activity. The total turnover for the day was Rs.7.85 billion, while it was Rs.9.20 billion on Wednesday.
During the trading session, companies had mixed results. Prices for 86 companies went up, while 150 companies saw their prices go down, and 7 companies remained unchanged.
Looking at different sectors, the development bank sector grew by 0.83 percent, but the manufacturing sector did not change.
Other sectors experienced losses, such as the banking sector fell by 0.61 percent, finance by 2.43 percent, hotel and tourism by 0.78 percent, and hydropower by 0.55 percent.
The life insurance and microfinance sectors also had small declines of 0.01 percent each. Additionally, the non-life insurance sector dropped by 0.73 percent, investment by 0.79 percent, others by 0.35 percent, and the trade sector by 0.23 percent.
