The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell on Monday, marking a decline of 10.61 points, closing at 2,633.32.
A total of 17.253 million shares were traded during the day, amounting to Rs 8.924 billion in value, across 87,564 transactions from 312 companies.
Among the companies, 105 saw their share prices increase, 129 experienced declines, and 9 remained unchanged.
Out of the 13 sectors, 5 saw growth, while 8 experienced losses. The finance sector showed the biggest rise, increasing by 3.46%. The microfinance sector grew slightly by 0.04%.
Meanwhile, the trading sector experienced the largest decline, dropping by 1.83%, whereas the hotel and tourism sector had the smallest fall, decreasing by 0.51%.
Despite the overall decline in the index, trading activity was still strong, showing that investors are actively engaged, although sentiment varied across different sectors.
