After a strong rally earlier in the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange slipped slightly on Wednesday, though trading turnover continued to rise, signaling sustained investor activity.

Following a strong 62-point gain on Tuesday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) slipped by 5 points on Wednesday, closing at 2,566.16 points.
Despite the minor decline, overall market activity strengthened as total turnover rose to Rs 5.45 billion, up from Rs 4.57 billion the previous day.
Out of the listed companies, 85 recorded gains, 159 saw losses, and 6 remained unchanged. The Hotel and Tourism sector led the market with a 2.15% rise, followed by Trade (2.00%) and Hydropower (0.01%).
Most other sectors posted losses, including Other (-1.20%), Banking (-0.34%), Development Banks (-0.91%), Finance (-0.77%), Investment (-0.17%), Life Insurance (-0.64%), Manufacturing and Processing (-0.28%), and Non-Life Insurance (-0.19%).
Analysts noted that despite the day’s correction, the increased turnover indicates continued investor interest following recent market momentum.
