Hundreds of trekkers stranded in Manang have begun returning as weather conditions improve and snow-clearing efforts restore access to major trekking routes. The snowfall that began last Monday had halted travel toward Tilicho Lake (4,919 meters) and Thorong La Pass (5,416 meters).
Chief District Officer Navaraj Paudyal said roads were cleared by Wednesday, allowing tourists to move safely, though two-wheeled vehicles remain restricted. Nearly 200 tourists descending from Tilicho were given shelter in Upper Manang, while others have moved toward Braka and Chame.
Local tourism officials reported that around 150 trekkers have already descended from higher regions, including Thorong La Pass, as visibility and weather continue to improve.
