Nepal’s national cricket team is missing two key players, Sompal Kami and Gulshan Jha for today’s match against the Netherlands in the ICC World Cup League-2, taking place in Scotland. Both players were injured during a practice session, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) confirmed in a statement released by spokesperson Chhumbi Lama.
Sompal hurt his right hand, while Gulshan injured his knee. As a result, they will not only miss today's match but will also be unavailable for all games in the upcoming T20I Tri-Series.
In better news for Nepal, medium pace bowler Nandan Yadav has made his ODI debut in today’s match. Assistant coach Gyanendra Malla presented him with his debut cap, making him the 42nd player to represent Nepal in One-Day Internationals.
Yadav’s selection came after Sompal’s injury created an opening in the team’s bowling lineup.
