Nepal’s future development depends on youth leadership, Prime Minister Sushila Karki said on Wednesday.

Addressing the 31st convocation ceremony of Kathmandu University in Dhulikhel, Kavrepalanchok, she stated that the nation has placed high expectations on young people and that rapid national progress is possible if youth take charge in key leadership roles.

Prime Minister Karki, who also serves as the Chancellor of the university, emphasized the need to ensure quality higher education, skills, employment, and prosperity within the country. She pointed out that Nepal’s investment in higher education remains low and said national aspirations cannot be met without increasing that investment.

She also said consultations are underway to revise the provision that makes the Prime Minister the Chancellor of universities. A total of 2,209 students graduated at the ceremony.
