In a recent move aimed at easing international travel for Nepali citizens, the government has raised the foreign currency limit to 3,000 US dollars per person.

The announcement was made by Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr. Bishwanath Paudel during the release of the monetary policy for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83. This is an increase from the earlier limit of 2,500 dollars.

The new provision is expected to benefit those traveling for purposes such as study, treatment, business, or tourism by allowing them to manage their expenses more conveniently. The policy will come into effect with the start of the new fiscal year.
