The Nepali women kabbadi team has left for Iran to compete in the 6th Asian Women's Kabaddi Championship, which will be held in Tehran from March 4 to March 9.

A 13-member team, including 10 players, will compete against teams from India, Iran, Iraq, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Malaysia. The team is led by captain Manmati Bista, with players Jayanti Badu, Rabina Chaudhary, Ganga Ghimire, Sirjana Kumari Tharu, Nisha Bohara, Nisha Khatri, Manisha Joshi, Ashma Yadav, and Binita Pandit Chhetri.

The team is accompanied by officials Arvind Kumar Jha, coach Harina Thapa, and referee Nitu Gurung.

The Asian Women's Kabaddi Championship started in 2005. India has won 4 times, while South Korea has won once. Iran, Japan, Thailand, and South Korea have each finished runner-up at least once.
