The Nepali share market, primarily represented by the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), is the main platform for buying and selling stocks in Nepal. Established in 1993, NEPSE has grown as a critical component of Nepal's financial system, offering investors opportunities to trade shares of companies across various sectors such as banking, insurance, manufacturing, and hydropower.
While the market has seen gradual growth, it remains relatively small compared to other global markets. The Nepali stock market is characterized by a high level of investor enthusiasm, but it also faces challenges such as limited liquidity, volatility, and lack of financial literacy among retail investors. Despite these issues, the market continues to attract both local and international investors, contributing to the country's economic development.
