Dila Sangroula, elected Vice-Chair in Nepali Congress’s Special General Convention, stated that the country’s leadership now rests with President Gagan Thapa. Speaking to journalists during the first meeting of Thapa-led Central Working Committee, she said a new era has begun, requiring fresh ideas, vision, and agendas, and only Thapa can inspire the hope and trust needed to meet public expectations.
Sangroula said, “Gagan Thapa’s leadership will steer the country. A new era has begun—the era of the renaissance. We are committed to fulfilling the many agendas and expectations of the people.”
Vice-Chair Bahadur Singh Lama highlighted that the Gen-Z movement brought transformation and promised to take issues like good governance and job creation to the elections. He added past shortcomings will be addressed, following policies passed at the Special General Convention.
Vice-Chair Uday Shamsher Rana said the party will actively participate in the upcoming elections, forming committees for manifesto preparation and election management ahead of candidate nominations on 6 Magh.
The first meeting of the Gagan Thapa-led Central Working Committee is ongoing Thursday in Kupundol, Lalitpur. – News Agency Nepal
