Talks between Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma ended on Wednesday without any agreement.
The general secretaries had gone to Deuba’s residence in Maharajgunj after being called for the meeting. The discussion lasted about an hour and a half, but the sides could not reach a consensus and left without a decision.
Other leaders, including Ramesh Lekhak, Jivan Pariyar, Minendra Rijal, and Bal Krishna Khand, were also present.
After the unsuccessful meeting, the general secretaries are now preparing to inform the Election Committee and continue with the election process.
With no agreement reached in this important meeting, the leaders supporting the Special General Convention have decided to move forward with elections to choose the party’s leadership and policies.
The Central Working Committee meeting, scheduled for 8 am, could not take place because of the ongoing talks with the party president.
