Gagan Thapa Files Nomination as Sole Candidate for NC President

The closed session of the Nepali Congress’s second Special General Convention has begun the process to elect the party’s new leaders.

General Secretary Gagan Thapa has submitted his nomination for the position of party president.

Sources say Thapa is currently the only candidate for the presidency.

The Election Committee started the leadership election after a meeting with President Sher Bahadur Deuba ended without any decision.
