The Nepali Army is celebrating its 263rd anniversary today with events across the country. The main program, which also marks Maha Shivaratri, is taking place at the Army Pavilion in Tundikhel. President Ram Chandra Paudel, who is the Supreme Commander of the Nepali Army, is attending as the chief guest.

 

The celebrations include a Shivaratri salute, a military parade, gun salutes, drill displays, and cultural programs. According to Army spokesperson Rajaram Basnet, Army Day is also being observed by army divisions, brigades, battalions, diplomatic missions, and peacekeeping missions. The day honors the army’s history, traditions, and commitment to serving the nation.
