Nepal have reached the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier for the first time after defeating UAE. This is a big achievement for the Nepali women's team.


In the Super Three stage of the Asia Qualifier, Nepal chased UAE’s target of 115 runs with just 3 balls remaining, losing 5 wickets. Captain Indu Barma scored 30 not out, and Rubina Chhetri added 23 runs. UAE bowlers Michelle Botha, Suraksha Kotte, Vaishnave Mahesh, and Esha Oza took one wicket each.


Earlier, UAE chose to bat in Bangkok, Thailand. They scored 114 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. UAE captain Esha Oza was the top scorer with 39 runs, while Nepal’s Manisha Upadhyay took 4 wickets.


Nepal will now play their second Super Three match against Thailand tomorrow. Thailand has also qualified for the Global Qualifier after beating UAE.


Nepal entered the Super Three as the Group C winner. Host Thailand were the Group A winner, and UAE topped Group B.
