Nepal will play their final practice match before the ICC T20 World Cup today against Canada. After starting their warm-up games with a match against the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Nepal will wrap up their preparations with this match against another associate team, Canada.
The game will take place at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, starting at 1:15 pm. Nepal comes into the match on a high after beating the UAE by seven wickets in their first warm-up game on Tuesday.
With that win boosting their confidence, Nepal will look to continue their momentum and gain more practice before the World Cup. A victory against Canada would further lift team morale.
Before these matches, Nepal played two practice games against the MCA President’s XI in Mumbai and earlier had warm-up matches against Sri Lanka ‘A’ in Sri Lanka.
Nepal’s T20 World Cup campaign starts on February 8 against England. They are in Group C, where they will also play Italy, West Indies, and Scotland. Nepal will face Italy on February 12, West Indies on February 15, and Scotland on February 17.
Nepal will play England and Italy in international cricket for the first time. All group-stage games will be held in Mumbai, and tickets for Nepal’s matches have already sold out.
This is Nepal’s third appearance in the T20 World Cup, after participating in 2014 and 2024.
