Under the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Nepal has suffered its second consecutive defeat. In today’s match, Nepal was beaten by Italy by 10 wickets.
Chasing a modest target of 124 runs set by Nepal, Italy comfortably reached the total in just 12.4 overs without losing a wicket. Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca put on a brilliant partnership to secure the easy win. Justin remained unbeaten on 60 runs, while Anthony scored an unbeaten 62. Justin struck 5 fours and 3 sixes off 44 balls. Similarly, Anthony smashed 3 fours and 6 sixes. None of the Nepali bowlers were able to make an impact, finishing wicketless.
Earlier, after losing the toss at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Nepal batted first and were all out for 123 runs in 19.3 overs.
Aarif Sheikh scored 27 runs, Rohit Paudel made 23, Aasif Sheikh added 20, Dipendra Singh Airee scored 17, and Karan KC remained unbeaten on 18. The rest of the batters failed to reach double figures.
Kushal Bhurtel scored 5 runs, Lokesh Bam and Gulshan Jha made 3 runs each, while Nandan Yadav failed to open his account.
For Italy, Crishan Kalugamage took three wickets and Ben Manenti claimed two, while Ali Hasan, JJ Smuts, and Jasprit Singh picked up one wicket each.
In their previous match, Nepal had lost to England by 4 runs. With today’s defeat, Nepal remains without a point in the tournament.
