Nepal Rastra Bank Directs Banks to Stay Open During Holi and Election Day

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has told banks and financial institutions to provide banking services even on the upcoming public holidays.

In a circular, the central bank asked banks to keep their offices open during the Holi festival and on Thursday, March 5, which is the day of the House of Representatives election.

NRB has also instructed commercial banks that handle government transactions to make proper arrangements for government payments and revenue collection.

Banks and financial institutions that manage election campaign accounts have been told to provide services like cash deposits, cash withdrawals, and cheque transactions for political parties and election candidates.
