The NEPSE index increased strongly on Sunday, the first trading day of the week. It went up by 19.27 points and closed at 2,674.20.
Along with the index, trading activity also increased compared to the previous session. On Thursday, the total trading amount was Rs 4.17 billion. On Sunday, it rose to Rs 5.64 billion. A total of 13.93 million shares of 341 different companies were bought and sold during the day.
Out of all the companies traded, 187 saw their share prices rise, 64 recorded a drop, and 11 remained unchanged.
Among the biggest gainers, Salpa Bikas Bank and Reliance Spinning Mills both increased by 9.99 percent. Premier Laxmi Bank’s share price stood at Rs 642.90.
On the losing side, Himstar Urja had the biggest drop, falling 4.16 percent to Rs 1,159. Corporate Development Bank also declined by 3.61 percent to Rs 1,556.70 per share.
All 13 sector indices moved up, showing overall positive growth in the market. The finance sector recorded the highest gain of 2.22 percent, indicating broad improvement across the stock market.
