KP Sharma Oli, Chairperson of Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist), has urged voters to think seriously about national integrity, sovereignty, and nationalism.

In a video message released on Sunday ahead of the March 5 House of Representatives election, Oli said he has always worked for the country’s greater good. Referring to the party’s slogan “Nation First,” he asked voters to support the UML and help it win the upcoming election.

The former Prime Minister admitted that misinformation about him may have caused dissatisfaction and questions among the public. He also accepted that there may have been some weaknesses on his part.

Reaffirming his party’s commitment to nation-building, Oli said public infrastructure should never be destroyed or set on fire again.

He stressed that the upcoming election is not just a competition between political parties, but an important moment to think about the country’s overall interest before casting votes.
