Nepal lost its third straight match in the Women’s T20 Tri-Series in the capital. Today, they were defeated by the Netherlands by 15 runs.
At the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal could only manage 125 runs in 20 overs while chasing the Netherlands’ target of 141 runs. Nepal lost all its wickets in the process.
Captain Indu Barma was the top scorer for Nepal with 30 runs from 32 balls, including a six. Samjhana Khadka made 23 runs, hitting four boundaries, while Puja Mahato scored 18, Kabita Joshi made 14, and Sita Ranamagar remained not out with 10 runs.
Earlier, the Netherlands batted first after winning the toss and scored 140/9 in 20 overs. Their captain, Babette de Leede, was the highest scorer with 41 runs from 38 balls, including four boundaries and a six. Heather Siegers made 26, and Robine Rijke and Phebe Molkenboer both contributed 21 runs.
For Nepal, Sita Rana Magar was the best bowler, taking five wickets, followed by Manisha Upadhyay with two wickets, and Kabita Joshi and Indu Barma each took one.
This Tri-Series features Nepal, the Netherlands, and Thailand. Nepal lost its opening match to the Netherlands and its second to Thailand. Nepal will play Thailand next on February 4.
