After being sent to bat first, Nepal set a target of 142 runs, finishing at 141 for 7 in 20 overs. Opener Kushal Bhurtel anchored the innings with a composed 66 off 56 balls, hitting three sixes and three fours. Gulshan Jha and Dipendra Singh Airee each added 20 runs, while skipper Rohit Paudel contributed 16.

 

In reply, Kuwait struggled against Nepal’s disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for 83 in 18.1 overs. Clint Anto scored 26 and Yasin Patel 19, but no other batter could withstand the pressure.

 

Sandeep Lamichhane, Lalit Rajbanshi, and Rohit Paudel took two wickets each, while Bhurtel, Sompal Kami, and Nandan Yadav picked one apiece. Nepal will next face Japan in their second group-stage encounter on Friday.
