Nepal Cricket Team Arrives in Chennai Ahead of World Cup Warm-Up Matches

The Nepali national cricket team has arrived in Chennai after playing two practice matches in Mumbai as part of their preparation for the upcoming Cricket World Cup.

Before the tournament, Nepal will play two official warm-up matches in Chennai. In the first match, Nepal will face the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, starting at 5:15 pm. Nepal and UAE have played against each other many times in international cricket.

Nepal’s second warm-up match will be against Canada on Thursday, also at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Nepal will start their World Cup campaign on February 8 against England. They are in Group C with West Indies, England, Scotland, and Italy. Nepal will play England and Italy for the first time in international cricket. Their group-stage matches will all be held in Mumbai, and all tickets have already been sold out.

This will be Nepal’s third Cricket World Cup appearance, after previously taking part in 2014 and 2024.
