Across Nepal, artisans, engineers, mechanics, and metalworkers are celebrating Vishwakarma Puja today, a festival dedicated to Lord Vishwakarma, the divine architect and craftsman in Hindu tradition.
The festival, observed annually on Vishwakarma Jayanti, sees workers in factories, workshops, and construction sites worshipping their tools, machinery, and instruments. Devotees believe the rituals strengthen their tools, make them more durable, and ensure safety in their work. Statues or images of Lord Vishwakarma are installed, and traditional offerings are made.
The event also serves as a community gathering, with workers decorating their workplaces and participating in collective prayers.
The celebration highlights both religious devotion and social respect for the professions that form the backbone of construction, engineering, and technical trades in Nepal.
