Nepal beats Netherlands by 5 wickets in World Cup League-2

Nepal defeated the Netherlands by 5 wickets in the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2 match held yesterday in Dundee, Scotland.

Chasing a target of 226 runs set by the Netherlands, Nepal reached the total in 47.1 overs, losing 5 wickets.

Arif Sheikh scored the highest for Nepal with 78 runs and was named the ‘Player of the Match’. Dipendra Singh Airee added 38 runs. For the Netherlands, Michael Levitt took 2 wickets.

Earlier, the Netherlands won the toss and chose to bat first. They scored 225 runs, with Noah Croes contributing 48 runs.

For Nepal, Sompal Kami took 3 wickets, while Karan KC, Lalit Rajbanshi, and Sandeep Lamichhane took 2 wickets each.

In their previous match, Nepal had beaten Scotland by 1 wicket.

Currently, Nepal stands at 7th position in the points table with 10 points from 14 matches. The Netherlands is in 2nd place with 26 points from 21 matches, and Scotland is in 4th place with 20 points from 17 matches.

Nepal will next play against Scotland on June 7 and again face the Netherlands on June 9.
