The Nepal Center for Contemporary Research (NCCR-Nepal) has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic deaths during the ongoing Gen-Z movement and extended condolences to grieving families. The organization also raised serious concern about child safety after a recent fire incident at a juvenile home in Banke’s Naubasti, where five children narrowly escaped.
In its statement, NCCR urged authorities to strengthen safety and security systems in juvenile homes and child care centers, warning that children in such facilities remain highly vulnerable during times of unrest and natural disasters.
The organization appealed to the Nepal Army, child rights groups, and social institutions to ensure immediate protection, safe food and shelter, and proper care for children in crisis. It also called for coordinated efforts to address risks and prevent further tragedies, emphasizing that safeguarding children should be treated as a national priority.
