NC to Name Gagan Thapa as Future PM Candidate

The newly elected Central Working Committee (CWC) of the Nepali Congress is preparing to officially name Party President Gagan Thapa as the party’s candidate for future Prime Minister.

For this purpose, the party has called a CWC meeting on Friday at 1 PM at the party office in Sanepa.

This decision is one of the main outcomes of the Special General Convention held from January 11 to 14, which dissolved the Sher Bahadur Deuba–led committee and elected a new leadership team.

This will be the first CWC meeting at the Sanepa office in a long time. Earlier, internal disputes had forced the party to hold meetings at other locations.

Party spokesperson Devaraj Chalise confirmed the meeting schedule. After the announcement, Gagan Thapa is expected to visit his parliamentary constituency in Sarlahi–4.
