Nepal’s Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast rainfall starting Magh 9 (Friday). Light to moderate rain is expected in far-western Nepal, especially Sudurpaschim, as well as in Karnali and Lumbini provinces, with moderate snowfall possible in high Himalayan areas. Senior meteorologist Varun Paudel said the rain will be short-lived, lasting until Saturday evening, with light rain reaching Kathmandu but not the eastern region.
Another system may bring light rain and Himalayan snowfall from the night of Magh 13 (Tuesday) to Wednesday. Experts say this rainfall could relieve the current dry, dusty conditions and benefit agriculture, air quality, and water resources.
