The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index went up by 9.23 points on Thursday, the final trading day of the week, and closed at 2,714.61 points.
Total share trading increased slightly to Rs 9.07 billion, up from Rs 8.92 billion on Wednesday. Out of 260 listed companies, share prices of 162 companies increased, 88 companies saw a fall in prices, and 10 companies remained unchanged.
Among all sectors, the finance sector gained the most, rising by 2.38 percent. However, the banking sector fell by 0.31 percent and the trading sector dropped by 1.15 percent.
Most other sectors, including development banks, hotels and tourism, hydropower, investment, life insurance, manufacturing and processing, microfinance, non-life insurance, and others, recorded small gains ranging from 0.02 percent to 1.51 percent.
