The Nepali government has extended the inquiry commission’s deadline by 20 days to investigate the Bhadra 23–24, 2082 protests. Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal also confirmed accepting a $2 million AIIB grant for the Siddhartha Highway upgrade.

The government has extended the deadline of the inquiry commission, formed to investigate and report on the physical and human damages during the protests on Bhadra 23 and 24, 2082 BS, by 20 days.
The decision was made at the Cabinet meeting held on Thursday at Singha Durbar. Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Government Spokesperson and Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal also announced that the government has accepted a grant assistance equivalent to 2 million US dollars from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank for the preparation of the Siddhartha Highway (Butwal–Pokhara road section) improvement project.
The government has designated Om Prakash Aryal as the Home Minister of Nepal.
