Minister Kulman Ghising Directs Faster Completion of Muglin–Pokhara Road

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Kulman Ghising, has instructed contractors to speed up the construction of the Muglin–Pokhara road.

During a visit to the western section from Jamune to Pokhara, the minister asked construction companies to complete the work on time and make sure traffic can move smoothly. He also said the government is ready to help solve any problems that are slowing down the project.

 

According to the project office, 59.76 percent of the physical work on the western section has been completed, while 47.80 percent of the budget has been spent.

 

Project Chief Krishna Bahadur Kunwar said that the first layer of blacktop has been completed on 37.4 kilometers of the total 48.88-kilometer road. Out of this, four lanes have been finished on 29.61 kilometers, and two lanes on 7.79 kilometers.

 

There are 12 bridges on this section. 11 bridges are already completed, and work is continuing on the last bridge over the Seti River.

 

Kunwar also said that out of the 25 kilometers planned for four-lane upgrading in the last fiscal year, 23.06 kilometers have already been blacktopped. All 11 bridges planned for completion during that period are now finished.

 

The project office added that 65 out of 66 culverts have been completed. In addition, 45.2 kilometers of drainage has been built out of the planned 51.5 kilometers.
