Lumbini Lions secured their first win in the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) in Kathmandu's Kirtipur on Tuesday.

Having lost all four of their previous matches, Lumbini defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 33 runs. After losing the toss and being invited to bat first, Lumbini scored 167 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Lumbini's captain, Rohit Paudel, made a contribution of 80 runs off 57 balls, including 5 sixes and 6 fours, while Saad Bin Zafar scored 52 runs off 35 balls, with 1 six and 4 fours. For Chitwan, Rijan Dhakal took 3 wickets, while Kushal Malla and Ranjit Kumar each claimed one wicket. Chasing a target of 168 runs, Chitwan was bowled out for just 134 runs in 20 overs, losing 8 wickets. This was Chitwan's second loss in five matches, leaving them with 6 points. With their first win in their fifth match, Lumbini has kept their slim hopes of making it to the playoffs alive.
