A strange but lovable toy called Labubu is capturing hearts around the world and it’s not just for kids. Grown-ups are lining up, spending hundreds of pounds, and even turning these furry figures into fashion statements.

Labubu, a snaggletoothed, elf-like creature designed by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung, has become a must-have collectable. The toys are sold by Chinese company Pop Mart, mostly in blind boxes, meaning you never know which version you'll get until you open it. That surprise element is one of the biggest reasons for its popularity.

From plush toys to keychains, Labubus come in all shapes, colours and styles. Recently, they were spotted as the latest accessory at Paris Fashion Week. Big names like BLACKPINK’s Lisa and Rihanna have been seen carrying them, adding fuel to the trend.

Lisa even called Labubu her “secret obsession,” while Rihanna’s fans rushed to copy her look after she was seen with one hanging from her bag.

Pop Mart, the company behind Labubu, has seen its profits double in the past year and plans to expand globally. Artist Kasing Lung said the idea came from his love of fairy tales and drawing when he was a child in the Netherlands.

For many, Labubu is more than a toy, it’s a way to escape daily stress and express personality. While some critics think it’s silly or too expensive, fans say it's a valid and meaningful hobby.
