The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has handed over football kits and essential training equipment to the Nepal Cerebral Palsy Football Team on Saturday in a gesture of support for the growing para football community in Nepal.
ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, in the presence of FIFA South Asia Regional Office Lead Prince Rufus, handed over the materials at a special function held at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato.
The donation comes as a timely boost for the team, particularly the women’s cerebral palsy football squad, who recently made history by representing Nepal in their first-ever international tournament at the 2023 IFCPF Asia-Oceania Championships in Australia. The team continues to hold regular training sessions and has been seeking more resources to enhance their development and competitiveness on the international stage.
During their previous visit to the ANFA Complex, the team had formally requested footballs and training equipment. In a statement, the Nepal Cerebral Palsy Football Team expressed their heartfelt gratitude to President Nembang and Mr. Rufus, saying, “Your support directly enables us to train more effectively, enhance our techniques, and work towards even greater achievements on the field. Your belief in us fuels our determination.”
The team also praised ANFA for its inclusive approach and sustained efforts in promoting football at all levels, including para and disability sports.
