Nepal Police have arrested Mohammad Saif, a resident of Dallu, Kathmandu Metropolitan City–15, on charges of illegally dealing in cryptocurrency, which is banned in Nepal. Originally from Kalaiya Municipality, Bara, Saif was taken into custody after authorities received information about his involvement in cryptocurrency transactions.

 

Police seized two mobile phones linked to the trades and found that Saif had conducted cryptocurrency dealings exceeding NPR 198.149 million.

 

The Kathmandu District Court has extended his remand by five days to allow further investigation under the offense related to prohibited immaterial currency. Police are continuing their inquiry into the case.
